Gynecology and Obstetrics

Established at the beginning of the 1930s as a branch to the department of surgery and later it became an independent department.

Undergraduate third, fourth, fifth and sixth medical students attend the department. Around 1000-1200 undergraduates study the field of gynecology and obstetrics each year. In addition, post graduate students (Iraqi and Arabic Board candidates) are taught as well.
Clinical services including labor wards, gynecology wards, operating theaters and outpatient departments are also included.
